DDP presents an avant-garde and amusing approach to drill team performance, inspired by the military, pom pom squads, science-fiction and the NYC Rockettes. DDP performs structured routines, that fit with carefully chosen electronic music.
DDP features a well disciplined troupe of uniformed femme fatales who ceremonially march in, like something out of a scene in Fritz Lang’s Metropolis or perhaps from the movie 1984, and they take over your city...uh...I mean, take over your dance floor, all to the driving force of Industrial and Synthpop music. Do not be surprised if they break out into some well known and worshipped dance floor anthem from the 80’s or 90’s too!
The purpose of this specialized drill team is to provide unique entertainment, to promote electronic dance music, to celebrate charmingly odd artistic spirit and to
relish in some silly and sometimes creepy pop culture icons! It is a perfect entertainment ensemble to accompany
any open minded head of state or lead any freak parade, with a big Atomic BOOM!
The letters D D P are an abbreviation for “Dieter’s Dance Party”, a famed "Sprockets" skit on the late night comedy show Saturday
Night Live. The host for the show “Sprockets” is an eclectic character named Dieter, who is played by the actor Mike Meyers. The specific "Dieter's Dance Party" episode takes place in a Berlin nightclub, which features Dieter hosting a bizarre and humorous dance party event, with funky
electronic music, freakish dancing, and let’s not forget the special guest choreographer Etienne, played by Rob Lowe.
